Welcome to my little blog about style and sewing! I'm a 30-something, living in Chicago. I have plenty of passions and interests but I come with a huge soft spot for style. I don't remember a time in my life when I wasn't completely taken with clothing. Whether in old pictures, movies, or hanging in my own closet, my relationship with clothing has always been straight forward -- if it's feminine, simple, sleek, and takes me to another time and place, it's for me. However, we live in a world of fast fashion and production to suit the masses and it's become draining, mentally and financially, to find and fill my closet with quality pieces that suit me. So, I've challenged myself to make beautiful pieces by hand, and while I've only recently embarked on the art of dressmaking, I'm super excited about it! My purpose here is to share, inspire and learn this craft. Learning to turn a piece of fabric into a garment has some sort of magical quality. Turning it into an extremely feminine garment is FUN! Let's get started!
